Clinton Explains Rmoney's $5 Trillion Tax Cut

Posted by on Tue, Oct 16, 2012 at 9:45 AM

The video, which is trending on Twitter at this moment (Mitt Romney's $5), says it like it is:

Anyone who wants to see will easily see that Rmoney has no other agenda outside of cutting taxes for the rich. That is his entire political project.

As for the Clintons, they are clearly setting the tone and frame for the debate. As for history, it's not an accident that Rmoney has no notable living GOP figure to give his candidacy a sense of depth and continuity. He has to cut completely from the recent past, and reference instead the ghosts of the grand old party.

Clinton skipped over the "logic" that Romney is basing this on.
Romney is claiming that the reduced taxes will result in increased hiring which means that more people will be paying taxes.
Because the only thing holding back the "job creators" is $250,000 a year in tax cuts.
Romney is worth $250 MILLION.
But without that additional quarter million in tax cuts, he has no incentive to hire anyone else.
I wish Clinton would have covered the stupidity of that "logic" in that clip.

The former president is misinfomred. Ed Gillespie confirmed on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace (10/14) that Romney's plan does does not call for ending the home mortgage deduction.

Nor does he account for the increased number of tax payers that Romney's pro-growth policies will create through more jobs.

@2
Still looking for the anonymous internet abuse?

"Nor does he account for the increased number of tax payers that Romney's pro-growth policies will create through more jobs."

No. The point being that Romney is worth $250 MILLION but he claims to need an additional $250,000 in tax cuts to be able to hire another person.
And didn't Romney just OVERPAY his taxes so that he would stay at his predicted percentage?
But he still needs MORE tax cuts so he can hire an additional person.

And you are the one who defends racists and bigots.

@2: That is because the jobs that get created under another massive tax cut are a fantasy. Accounting for them would be silly.

Remember how George W. Bush massively cut taxes for the richest people twice, and it led to the worst economic climate since the Great Depression? Of course you don't, because to vote republican everyone has to forget all about those eight years.

Anyone's budget makes sense if you let them just claim any amount of magical growth. My plan calls for a 100% tax cut, but it will revenue neutral, because everyone in America will be hired. I don't have to prove it, I just have to say it, right?

@2, Rmoney wants to increase fed taxes on low-mid income earners. For example, his plan would decrease the deductions of the average 15,000-30,000 income bracket by $4000 (same for $30k-50k bracket). Yet, he wants to keep the tax cuts for the wealthy. No need to play coy about his intent and pretend he isn't of the 1%, for the 1%.

@2, Romney's only policy seems to be tax cuts, just like Republicans have been pushing as the solution to every problem since Reagan. Taxes are currently very close to the lowest they've been in history and they've gone nowhere but down since the 80's. If tax cuts create job growth why haven't we seen a constant growth in employment for the last 30 years?

Let's continue this thread on Dan's later post of the exact same video (at 11:54 am) so that the boss is not too embarrassed.
