New Inslee Ad! What Do You Think of Bill Clinton's Suit?

Posted by on Fri, Oct 12, 2012 at 8:06 AM

This Jay Inslee ad is a good one, but that's not why I'm posting it. I'm posting it because it stars Bill Clinton in that goddamned ugly suit I was talking about last month. Get a load of this:

Thing is, I talked to one person last month (whose name may or may not be Eli Sanders) who liked Clinton's suit. I think that's insane. What do you think?

Gotta give you props, Paul: It takes guts for a schlub like you to hold yourself up for ridicule by criticizing what is certainly a $1,000 suit worn by one of the most charismatic men in the world.

The tan doesn't work well with his face/hair, but I do like the suit.....

You rock, Inslee, but get your setup people to never ever use glossy backgrounds behind the podium. It looks like ass.

The Big Dog can wear whatever the fuck he wants.

Do you even own a suit, Paul Constant?

Shiny backdrops with repeating logos make everything look tawdry.

@2 and @5 have it: the suit is the wrong color for Clinton's skin tone and hair, and it clashes with the background too.

I don't like it and I think men need to be more daring in their sartorial choices.

Wow he's really slim these days. Tan suit, pastel blue back ground, white and black and navy blue, it's all so artsy.

Like was the case with the Olympians of ancient times, I think competition should be in the nude. Test the candidates composure in trying circumstances, eh/

Uh, that clip was filmed in the end of the summer, and he is wearing a summer weight khaki suit. It's a very fashionable choice. Look at this Tumblr, Paul.

Also, what @4 said.

(Full disclosure: I own a khaki suit, and I rocked a very similar look at a summer wedding this year, except my tie was better than Bill's.)

Khaki suits are appropriate for summer weddings and Sunday services, and that's about it. It's weird to see a khaki suit in a political or professional context.

Uh, I can't see his cuffs (were turn ups?) or cut of his trousers, length of his jacket's vents, trouser PLEATED (?!), but...um, Paul, is it cause its a khaki suit and a way too wide tie? PAUL I'M CONFUSED?! Also the color doesn't matter based on the season, it's 2012 not 1950, those have been the rules since 1958, swingers.

It looks like a suit a game show host would wear.

Looks like the people have spoken, Paul.

Wrong. Side. Of. History.

"Wow he's really slim these days."

One of those check-out counter magazines said he was fighting for his life. Maybe that is why. However, they do tend to say that about everyone.

Who cares about the suit, my issue is in the editing of the comments, 'aerospace' is not 'rocket science'?
