Eighteen Rounds of Gunfire Rock West Seattle Apartment

Posted by on Fri, Oct 12, 2012 at 2:44 PM

Eighteen rounds of gunfire tore through a West Seattle apartment early Tuesday morning, narrowly missing two children and their mother who were sleeping on the floor in front of a window, according to a police report released yesterday.

When interviewed by responding officers, the rental's six residents said "they have no idea why someone would shoot up their apartment," the police report states.

According to the report, officers were called to the scene of 27th Avenue SW just after midnight on Tuesday, where two adults and two kids, who were sleeping in the living room of a rental house, awoke to an explosion of gunfire and shattering glass all around them.

"The rounds went through the main window on the east side of the apartment," notes the police report. "[The victims were] sleeping directly in front of of that window... [but] were not injured." The four victims cowered on the floor until the shots ceased.

Four more adults in different parts of the house were also awoken by the shots, but when questioned, none of the victims could identify the suspects.

The report mentions that a witness told police that he saw two suspects run from the shooting area to a black Dodge Charger parked two blocks away. They reportedly sped away with their headlights off. Police couldn't locate the suspects. However, officers counted 18 bullet holes sprayed across the building and found as many high-caliber rifle bullet-casings on the street.

A friendly piece of advice for West Seattle residents: Bullet-proof blankets make for impractical but wholly necessary holiday gifts.

What a stupid comment! Maybe Capitol Hill residents should request hard hats to prevent someone knocking them unconsious, beating them up and stealing from them.

Gotta love that SHA owned housing, two blocks from city limits.

Why do people object to low income developments again?

This can't be happening. According to Mudede, it only happens to rural Caucasians.
