Seattle Man Arrested for Allegedly Strangling a Hawk

Posted by on Thu, Oct 4, 2012 at 4:05 PM

Rob McKenna didn't write this.

Jesus Chr*st, this is truly awful:

West Precinct detectives and the Seattle Animal Shelter are investigating a man for possible animal cruelty charges after he was caught strangling a hawk Monday in a downtown park. The hawk was so seriously injured that it had to be euthanized.

Around 4 pm on October 1st, officers went to Victor Steinbrueck Park, near the Pike Place Market, after receiving a report about a man harming a bird.

I would like to remind all you voters out there that, unlike my opponent, I am pro-life and do not—in any way, shape, or form—condone hawk strangling. I repeat: This is simply not part of my platform.

1,2 people who post on Slog rarely answer questions that you pose to them. So I, the original hungry hippo, will provide you with answers.
1- spare us all and cut your comment count in half, please. And 2- choking the chicken is such a delicate, ah screw it, do it, get it done with, and move on. Wash your hands!

We at W-RMKO (Rob McKenna Radio) interrupt these posts to bring you late breaking news.

Flash! A spacecraft has landed in a small field near Grover's Mill, New Jersey, and, yes, I can see a...oh, ladies and gentlemen, this is breathtaking!

As a follow-up question, I'd also appreciate your views on spanking the monkey.

aw fuck. these are incredibly cool, resourceful birds that can manage to make a living in cities, despite the fact that they'd rather be hunting in a forest. Seattle is blessed to still have them around, especially in a place like downtown!
so angry. what an asshole. i don't care if the guy turns out to be crazy, punish that jerk anyway.

Did you click through to the picture? Absolutely heart breaking. All McKenna jokes aside, someone needs to kill the asshole that strangled that hawk.

I hope the blood on the hawk's beak and talons came from the jerk! You'd think trying to fuck with a raptor would be its own punishment.
