If this is climate change, hell, it's really working out great for us. You know, until we run out of water.

don't worry Goldy your rain will be back in a week and stay for nine months, until then enjoy the sun.

I've seen all sorts of global warming comments about the weather and I just don't get it. It's common for this area to have summers that start in July and sunny days that extend through September and often the first part of October. It's great, but it's nothing new.

A lot of the snow loss on the nearby mountains is more highly correlated with the wildfires depositing ash, which accelerates snow melt.

Not that the heat and sun helps, mind you.

Remember, that tomato is a non-native species, and Seattle's city government doesn't want you to grow it. Not only that, but it's GMO. True "heirloom" tomatoes are poisonous.

@6 Attaboy, keep banging on that drum. Lest you think your cries are going unheeded, I assure you that at least some of us out here in Slogland are giving your posts ALL of the consideration that they merit.

@4 True, but what is unusual this year is the lack of rain. Very strange.

@10 9 out of 10 doctors would agree with your first impression. The trick to staying out of the nuthouse is being persistent and finding that 10th doctor.
Oy, "poisonous tomatoes"...soooo 19th century...
That's a happy lookin' hound!

I've forwarded your picture to the investigative officer for animal control; Dogs are NOT permitted on any Seattle beaches and will result in a fine not to exceed 350$. Please provide me with a copy of your picture I.D. at your soonest convenience.

Thanks,

@Goldy, soon enough now that you're a homeowner and apparently a gardener, you'll run into the native plant nazis and their city hall wanna be enforcers.

Goldy 16
@14 I've been a homeowner and a gardener since 1997. No native plant nazis yet.

First they came for my neighbor's beets, and I didn't speak out because I don't like beets...

@15: I doubt it. Any civil servant who has the power to do this would know that they could not actually prove that Goldy was there, it is Goldy's dog, or expect anyone to send a picture ID image to that address.

Also, it would not be done on a blog forum, and certainly under that person's usual and personal user profile.
