It hit 7.7 percent in August, which is a bit of a rise from the July rate of 7.5 percent.
Same story for the state as a whole: Washington's overall unemployment rate is up from 8.5 percent in July to 8.6 percent for August.
Neither of those numbers represent big increases, and they're both better than the unemployment numbers a year ago. In August of 2011 the state had 9.2 percent unemployment, while Seattle had 8.4 percent.
Still, it's not good news. (As a lot of politicians will surely tell us between now and Election Day.)
