Paul Ryan Asked for Obamacare Funds

Posted by on Thu, Sep 6, 2012 at 5:00 AM

Remember how Paul Ryan railed against the stimulus in public, then asked for stimulus money in private, and then lied about not asking for stimulus money? Looks like he's a serial welfare queen:

On December 10, 2010, Ryan penned a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services to recommend a grant application for the Kenosha Community Health Center, Inc to develop a new facility in Racine, Wisconsin, an area within Ryan’s district. “The proposed new facility, the Belle City Neighborhood Health Center, will serve both the preventative and comprehensive primary healthcare needs of thousands of new patients of all ages who are currently without healthcare,” Ryan wrote.

The grant Ryan requested was funded directly by the Affordable Care Act, better known simply as healthcare reform or Obamacare.

The letter, among several obtained by The Nation and The Investigative Fund through a Freedom of Information Act request, is a stark reminder that even the most ardent opponents of Obamacare privately acknowledge many of the law’s benefits.

Of course, the problem with being a congressman is that you have to look out for your constituents, and that means you have to make compromises that don't play well in the broad-strokes world of presidential politics. But his crazy base doesn't understand this, and his reputation as a liar is spreading at an alarming clip. Just last night, news that Ryan might have lied about climbing 40 mountains started spreading. It doesn't help, either, that his last name rhymes with "lyin'."

So Paul, what about the whole:
"God was in the Democrap Platform,
right before He was out of it..." Fiasco?

And that floor vote?
Democrapsy is action, Right?
AWESOME!

Sadly, it is a "Worst of Both Worlds" Shitstorm.....

The Angry Atheist Secularists are not happy.
(are they ever?...)
In fact they are Pissed.
Over the Shitty Humiliating way the were screwed over.
Reamed.

God is not Happy.
He can count.
He is not deaf.
He knows the Democraps really voted to kick him off the Island.
He will not forget.

Priceless.....

When some old dinosaur in the Senate gets caught in a lie because he forgets we live in an age where everyone can access video evidence of what he said, that's one thing.

But Paul Ryan is younger than I am! There is NO excuse for acting as though people can't go online and fact-check you (against both "reality" and "what you said last month")! There's only one explanation - the guy is a pathological liar.

Paul Ryan once single-handedly built an undersea city which flourished due to its Randian ideals #ryanfacts

Ryan is a liar and a bullshitter, worse than even the average member of his awful party.

But there's no hypocrisy here. These kind of attacks are so common -- Politician X railed against law Y, then sought benefits of law Y. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Consider: suppose that I'm playing a poker tournament with friends, and the group decides that half of the tournament entry fee will go to provide pizza for the tournament. I vociferously oppose this, because I think the entire entry fee should go as prizes to the winners. But I get voted down. Now, when the pizza comes, am I obliged not to partake? Obviously not. I'm going to eat, and I'll be right to do so, because I paid for that pizza, against my wishes.

Likewise, Ryan didn't want the ACA, but the ACA passed, and now that it passed, OF COURSE he's going to try to benefit from it.

The troll continues to only be good for unconvincing falsehoods, excessive verbosity, and poor sentence structure.

Also, in before the registered troll "You Gotta Be Kidding Me" says something about Biden in an attempt to take the focus off the topic at hand.

@6: an imperfect scenario.

Better would be your poker buddies also insist on collecting extra to feed the hungry poor family camped in the lot across the street. You vehemently oppose the plan, but when voted down, you go out and give the homeless family their share and tell them they have you to thank.

9, The Democrats are doing far better than the Republicans. Also, I'm praying to Santa Claus that he'll go to your house, and smite you, and you spend an eternity making toys in his workshop.
