What Will Bill Clinton Be Tonight?

Posted by on Wed, Sep 5, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Maureen Dowd says "the great psychodrama of this convention" plays out this evening when Bill Clinton takes the stage:

Will the shrewd and diabolical Bill buoy Barry or puncture him? Will he be generous or — like all those 2016 strivers at the Republican convention — self-obsessed?

Before we answer these questions with a binding Slog poll, please note that Dowd says 'ol Diabolical Bill, during the 2008 campaign, "literally carried an 81-page list of perceived insults by Obama to Hillary."

Awesome. Now:

What about "reads that 81 page list to an empty chair?"

What 1 said. Dowd was particularly pathetic and petty today. That grudge she's carrying is weighing her down.

You're suggesting he'll be chairitable?

I've got $5 says he brings a chair on stage, and pretends it's Clint Eastwood.

No, he brings a chair on stage and sits in it.

Maureen Dowd: the perfect example of a liberal veneer. I'd rather read Ann Coulter. At least she's honest in her contempt for liberal principles.

I'm pretty sure that Bill is going to knock it around the moon. Ever since 2008 and Hillary becoming Secretary of State I get the feeling the Clintons and the Obamas made up big time and genuinely are friends.

Will Maureen ever get over being the only woman Bill never made a pass at? It's now the 3rd decade of this drama for her. Cool it girl, maybe he just doesn't like redheads?

@5 That would be amazing. I wish this idea could get to Bill before tonight.

@6, I'd forgotten she was supposed to be a liberal voice until I read your post.

Fuck Maureen Dowd gently with a chainsaw.

@13:

Such misogyny is no better than the vile shit that drove Jen "Blaghag" McCreight out (if you don't know to what I'm referring, see Dan's post at 8:33 this morning). If you can't think of something substantial, insightful, creative, or additive to the discussion to post, for fucks sake, just keep quiet.

The last time I heard/read anything from Maureen Dowd was in 2008 when she recycled the same pop-psych bullshit about the Democrats, week after week. She is not a psycho-analyst, she is a "columnist," and she has nothing interesting or insightful to say, ever. She is awful. Now let us never speak of Maureen Dowd again.

Dowd is a right-wing Hilltard. Not actually a fan of Hillary, but trying to rouse the "left" that likes her to vote against Obama time and again. No thanks, moron.
