Employers in Washington have long warned of a mismatch between the education levels of available workers and the education required by many jobs today.
Sooooo... if Washington's businesses need more college educated workers to stay competitive, wouldn't it make sense to tax these businesses (or their owners) to invest in education? Or is the point of all this just to complain?
I mean, honestly—Washington's wealthy already enjoy the most regressive tax structure in the nation. So unless they have some brilliant plan to churn out bachelors degrees without spending any additional money, I'd love to hear from Washington employers as to who, exactly, they expect to pay for educating the workers they need?
Oh. That's right. Charter schools fixes all. Problem solved.
