Shooting in Lake City Tonight, One Dead, Suspect At Large

Posted by on Sat, Sep 1, 2012 at 12:49 AM

SPD says:

Officers arrived on scene and located the male victim sitting in the driver’s seat of his maroon Subaru, which was stopped in the street. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds...

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect pulled up next to the victim in his car and for reasons yet to be determined, fired multiple rounds at the victim, striking him several times. The suspect then fled the scene in his car and remains at large.

The suspect vehicle is described as a smaller silver or gray BMW. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20′s to 30′s with dark hair.

Not actually Lake City - this is in the Roosevelt neighborhood and just up the street from the Sisley properties that have been the subject of a lot of issues.

Roosevelt is a great neighborhood to live in - walkable to grocery stores, bars, restaurants, schools, Green Lake, future home of light rail. Normally it feels very safe and family friendly. This is the second tragic shooting this year in Roosevelt (the first was Cafe Racer).

Thanks for the correction @stone. 75th & 15th is well to the south of Lake City. Lake City may have a rep but come on...

Note: Please look at a Seattle map before you say what neighborhood something happened in. It's just common sense

I agree with @5. Why is it that you have to ruin their favorite pass time of blaming the blacks for every violent crime in the city. The nerve of you liberal miscegenating homo pervert druggies!!!!

The victim was my neighbor, and just the friendliest man. He and his dog made everyone feel welcome. We are all just stunned and saddened ... Surreal and shitty.

If we lowered the flag to half-mast every time an act of senseless gun violence took a life in America, we would never see the flag at full mast again.

If we lowered the flag halfmast every time an innocent baby is slaughtered in this country it would be in China before noon....

@16 Yeah, I'm not complaining either since the Red States have a consistently higher abortion rate than the national average.
