Ryan, Romney Sing Songs of Selves

Posted by on Tue, Aug 21, 2012 at 6:08 AM

1. Here's the Song of Mitt's Self:

2. Here's Paul Ryan's bro-tastic "Song of Myself."

3. Since we're being vaguely bookish about our politics this morning, Slog tipper Matt asks: "Did you know that the phrase 'Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan' is an anagram of 'My ultimate Ayn Rand Porn?' Crazy." I did know that, Matt, but I don't believe it's been on Slog yet, so thanks!

Yes, "My Ultimate Ayn Rand Porn" already was on SLOG.

"Legitimate Rape" is an anagram of "Male Pig Tea Rite"

That Romney ad's really good, slick and folky in the oil-corporation-as-local-business style.

The Ryan Song of Myself is even better! I wonder if, after twenty years of invading Middle Eastern countries (or however long it takes), we'll be seeing new versions of Drum Taps.

Aye, @1, I uncorked it on Slog on the 16th, Melissa Dunphy (@mormolyke) tweeted it on the 17th (with attribution), and it produces google 45,000 hits (fewer than 100 with attribution) at this writing.

How did Ms. Dunphy stumble onto it? She's a composer whose Gonzales Cantata won raves from Rachel Maddow, and she's currently working on an opera about the sex life of Ayn Rand as a PhD Dissertation at Penn.
