A Few More Local Musicians Share Their Feelings About the Pussy Riot Verdict

On Friday we reached out to some local musicians to see how they felt about Pussy Riot being sentenced to two years in prison—a few more reactions came in over the weekend, and I think they're worth sharing:

"It's completely astounding that the members of Pussy Riot were sentenced today. It is one of those situations that you watch in shock, unable to believe that it's still going on...much like if you stood in the middle of a street watching a car come speeding towards you and never moved until it ran you down. Agree or disagree with their approach to performance and protest in that church, the fact remains in terms of their imprisonment that there is not one absolute religion or one absolute government. Anyone who declares or enforces otherwise is at best intolerant and at worst a fascist. We could have seen this coming, and now that its happened, the world needs to respond swiftly and take action." —Greg Bennick, Trial and Between Earth & Sky
