In 2007, Mitt Romney Said He'd Be "Delighted" to Endorse a Bill Banning All Abortions Nationally

Paul Ryan isn't the only Republican at the top of the ticket who agreed with Todd Akin on banning abortions even in the case of rape and incest. In 2007, Mitt Romney said he was "delighted" by that idea, too:

"return it to the states"? was that part of his flip flop from being pro-choice to pro-illegal abortion?

The problem Republicans have on this issue is that their base actually likes a "no abortions for anyone" stance, while moderates tend to be strongly in the "abortions for some, miniature American flags for others!" crowd. So the bigger the election they're trying to win, the more fancy contortions they have to do.
