An editor on the telephone: "That sounds very romantic... say hi to the sheep for me."

Mudede, and there were no literal sheep in the conversation. Possibly not even figurative sheep.

I misread this and voted for the person I thought was on the phone in the Stranger office. I have failed this poll. So sorry.

Dan.

If you'd known him that long ... this wouldn't be a surprise.

I don't think Mudede would advise someone to greet sheep. The intensity of the life of sheep is in grass, not in greeting.

Charles is not a sheep man. He leans towards chicken.

One time, in the evening, I was traveling in New Zealand, heading south from the ferry on the rail line towards Dunedin.

Arriving in Auckland on the north island, the train ride in first class had been interesting. I was sunburned from two weeks in Fiji, as sun tan lotion wears off if you put a white t-shirt over it while swimming with sharks in the coral reefs - this was just before one of the military coups, but sharks don't care about that.

As we traveled south, we saw more and more sheep.

So, as we saw the lights of Dunedin in the evening, before you could see houses, Fran said to me "Look, it's the lights of Dunedin!"

I turned to her and said "No. It's sheep. With flashlights."
