Film Short Film Fridays

This week's film is "Honor the Treaties.” Directed by Eric Becker, a talented local filmmaker, the short is about Aaron Huey's photographic documentation of the poverty and violence on a Oglala Sioux Native American reservation in South Dakota and his collaboration with the street artists Shepard Fairey and Ernesto Yerena. The short's music, images, and editing are striking.

How anyone can watch this, can know about things like this and foreign wars and banker bailouts and widespread corruption and on and on, and still think that governments are anything but grossly brutal, immoral, criminal organizations is beyond me.
