1. Tonight at Kane Hall, I'll be in conversation with Neal Stephenson about his great new book of essays, Some Remarks. $5 tickets will be available at the door. I really dug Some Remarks, and Cory Doctorow did, too. I'll be asking Stephenson questions about his new book and his career. There will be plenty of time for lots of audience questions, too. 2. But! If the Stephenson interview wasn't happening tonight, I would be at Elliott Bay Book Company, where Christopher Frizzelle, Bethany Jean Clement, and Lindy West will be celebrating the launch of their new book of Stranger-related wisdom for college students, How to Be a Person. I have a couple of pieces in there—about books and about sexual positions—and I was pleased to see that it turned out to be a really beautiful, funny, smart book. Plus, this reading will also have free tacos and beer. If you can't get there right at 8, the party will continue on into the evening. Christopher wrote about the event earlier today, and it looks like a lot of fun.

3. And if that weren't enough, Hugo House is hosting a reading for two authors with local publisher Jaded Ibis Press, which I wrote about a couple years ago. Janice Lee and Anna Joy Springer will join with Leon Baham to "read queer and/or weird texts that appeal to readers with wild minds." It's an experimental fiction bonanza that's absolutely worth your time.
