Free Election App Delivers Results When Ballots Drop

Election night is here! Stranger staffers will be running about, talking to candidates and updating Slog with who's got the best grub, who doesn't wash their hands after using the bathroom, and who breaks down in tears on Primary Night: The Oscars for Faces of Radio™.

But if you don't care about any of those fancy trappings, the Secretary of State's office has a great FREE app that will give you ballot results as the office's website is updated (remember, there's just one drop tonight).

Some genius made it so you can highlight the races you care about and weed out the rest. But it's only for the iPhone—there are no Android, Vegan, or Gluten-free options. Tough luck. Click the link above or search for "WA State Election Results" in the app store.

Happy Primary Night!!

Did we get to vote on whether or not to fund this near-useless app?

There is an Android app. Check the Google Play store.

I'm an idiot and I left my ballot at home - no chance I can get it before 8. Someone told me that USPS is still collecting at the post offices and will get it postmarked by midnight. This doesn't quite ring true to me... But anyone know for sure?

Do other states have this sort of app? This has a ton of potential.

Will it be the same app for the general in november and going forward or just for this primary? I've got it and it's neat.

The app will be available for the General Election.

@8: Thanks! It's great. It should really say the percent of the vote that has been counted though.
