Slog Poll: Does Slog Have Too Many Polls?

Posted by on Fri, Aug 3, 2012 at 1:18 PM

Slog seems lousy with polls this afternoon. What do you think about that, Sloggers?

Your Slog polls still tend to 404 the mobile version, and what's more fun than a broken Slog? Poll away!

Hey, while we're talking about mobile, could you make that HEY DO YOU WANT TO SWITCH TO THE MOBILE VERSION banner go the fuck away when I'm on mobile? No, I do not want to switch to the mobile version (it is 2012, we have decent browsers on on phones), and that banner takes up half the damn screen.

Hey, while we're talking Blue Angels, doesn't it strike anyone that this little display is from a bygone era and irritating as fuck? And now, to add irritation, when they close I-90 they charge you to cross the 520. It's like WDOT extortion.

@ 3 Nope the Blue Angles are pretty awesome and seemed to be loved by most in the city

This is only one poll, and therefore can't be fully trusted. Obviously we need to run this poll a bunch of times (n=100?) and take an aggregate.

@6 Poppycock! You know all Slog polls are legally binding!

@3 FWIW, I hate them, too.

FYI History Lesson of the Day,

The same fellow behind Sea Fair, was the mover behind the building of the Space Needle, Northgate Mall (supposed to be first indoor mall in nation), and development of the University tract downtown.

He profited, but did he actually help in the development of Seattle?

@5: We're talking about the Blue Angels though, big difference.

this poll defines seattle in a nutshell.
WTF happened to slog...boring as hell.
Charles, Goldy, Eli and Paul should devote their talent to a more respectable and significant outlet...fuck the rest of this slog dribble. polls, eateries for the fat american and boring art exhibits, who wants or needs it?
"puppies, piggies, squeeeeee!" = not journalism.

To very body who voted to FUCK THE BLUE ANGELS, thank you. The yearly Fucking of the Blue Angles was a forums.thestranger tradition and I was feeling a little blue about missing it this year.

But its really the Air Force who fucked the Blue Angles. Now that drones are the instruments of fear and death the Blue Angels are anachronistic, cockless, flying clown penises.

Northgate was built in 1950 but not fully enclosed until 1973. Southdale Center in Edina, MN was the first fully enclosed and climate controlled mall in 1956. On account of the brutally long and cold winters. (See also, for similar reasons: Minneapolis and St. Paul skyway systems.)

@4 - I giggled all day. Thanks for that!

You go #11! A bunch of chicken hawk supporters who drool over dreams of 'blood and glory' spend our money to masturbate to roaring anachronistic war machines.

And anyone who cheers on these ‘shows’ is either incredibly ignorant or in denial about the world (touting the ‘skill’ of these bomber pilots is no excuse. That is akin to being thrilled with the skill of the Colorado terrorist who gunned down so many people -- so fast! wow! - in a theater. But he killed innocents? – US jets have for decades targeted innocents in wedding parties, hospitals, schools … US flying killers are extremely skilled. rah usa :-(
