In an effort to "hold Waste Management accountable for missed waste pickups," Mayor McGinn announced a hashtag campaign on Twitter called #theymissedme.

Now that Waste Management has been on strike for a week, trash is piling up in some parts of the city. Starting today, residents can drop off trash for no charge at either of Seattle's transfer stations.

Smart choice, Mr. Mayor. As we all know, hashtag campaigns can never go wrong.
