Drinking Liberally with Greg Nickels. Really.

Posted by on Tue, Jul 31, 2012 at 5:15 PM

I know I promised last week that Greg Nickels would show up at Drinking Liberally, and he didn't, but I'm told he'll really be there tonight. So if you have buyers remorse over Mike McGinn please feel free to stop by and buy our former mayor a drink.

FYI, the Seattle chapter of Drinking Liberally meets every Tuesday night from about 7PM onwards at the Montlake Ale House, 2307 24th Avenue East, and has been since early 2005. Everyone is welcome—even Republicans—and I'm almost always there if you ever want to stop by and say hello.

Luckily I don't have buyers remorse over voting for Mike McGinn. I don't think it's the office of the mayor that's broken around here; I think it's the whole city.

Why in the bloody hell would anyone be interested in that stooge who spawns crooks, and former lackey for Norm "there are no gangs in Seattle" Rice (and please ignore that strange buzzing sound emanating from his posterior)?

I don't like McGinn's support for that godawful stadium, but otherwise, he's the usual developer minion we've come to expect in this town.

The Community Development Roundtable pretty much calls the shots, and appears to have ever since their inception long ago! Sane people have long since given up any hope.

Personally I wouldn't waste my time with Greg Nickels, but since you're going to be there anyhow, Goldy, why don't you ask him how he feels about settling with Clay Bennett on the eve of the Key Arena lease decision.

I watched Mayor McSchwinn wander about ahead of the Seafair Torchlight Parade and was tempted to rush up and say something to him. But... I had nothing to say and I was sort of well on my way to being hammered.

I really have nothing to say to Hizzoner either. But it would be cool to have a belt with him. Someone from Dear The Stranger please go, and report back on what his drink of choice is.

I'm not sure what liberal means to you but I'm still pretty mad about the time he and some friends told me off on how awesome the skytrain in canada is. Bullies.
