Drinking Liberally with without Greg Nickels

Posted by on Tue, Jul 24, 2012 at 10:08 AM

Back in its heyday when Drinking Liberally was a required stop on the political circuit, then mayor Greg Nickels stopped by and presented us with a retired "Republican Street" sign. It now hangs proudly over the bar at the Montlake Ale House, plastered with Democratic candidate stickers.

Well I'm told Nickels, who is campaigning for Secretary of State, will be stopping by again tonight, giving all comers a chance to have drink and a chat with our former mayor.

FYI, the Seattle chapter of Drinking Liberally meets every Tuesday night from about 7PM onwards at the Montlake Ale House, 2307 24th Avenue East, and has been since early 2005. Everyone is welcome—even Republicans—and I'm almost always there if you ever want to stop by and say hello.

UPDATE: No, due to a scheduling change, Nickels won't be joining us tonight after all.
