Is "Suzan DelRomney" Mailer a Low Blow?

Democratic insiders hoping for a positive 1st CD race, were no doubt disappointed by the first couple anti-Suzan DelBene mailers sent out by an apparently pro-Laura Ruderman Super PAC. But the latest flyer to arrive in voters' mailboxes has some DelBene supporters screaming low blow:

Yikes.

The "Progress for Washington" PAC has already spent $64,000 sending out mailers before ballots have even dropped, so it's a safe bet that there's more money where that came from. So when will we learn who is paying for these attacks?

There's a July 20th deadline for reporting contributions made to PACs like this through the end of June, but if the check wasn't written until July 1, then we won't learn the identity of the funder(s) until after the primary. And even then, it's not uncommon to funnel contributions through a C4, thus further shielding the identity of the donor.

It's a bit ironic, of course, for the DelBene campaign to complain about Super PAC expenditures when DelBene's biggest political advantage is her own unlimited ability to self-fund. But the bigger concern for Dems is that mud flung during the primary may help elect a Republican in November.

Seems like negative campaigning wouldn't be the smartest idea in a competitive 5-way Democratic primary since it could harm both DelBene and Ruderman both. Probably good news for Burner though.

This is spot fucking on. Del Bene belongs next to Fiorina and Romney and Hurd for her disposable attitude towards the American skilled worker. What she's doing with a D next to her name is anyone's guess, but I think that her sort of corporaphilic D went the way of Gore and Kerry over a decade ago.

She is not a dino, Hobbs is a dino, DelBene is in the Obama/Biden wing of the party the new dem wings not the blue dog wing. You put a liberal like Burner or Ruderman in the general and we lose to koster.

The Dems have always been a center to center left party not a left party that the left has a fantasy of. Most people on the left really are Green Party members, but since we have a two party system they vote Dem, because the GOP terrifies them.

But I thought we knew who was paying for these mailers already. http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitic…

And the Progress for Washington PAC is not the same group that sent this mailing. And Delbene has spent $300k on her own campaign, so I fail to see why pointing out a $64k expenditure by another group is such a big deal.

No, Seattle14, the Greens I know are voting Green (or Justice Party). If only they voted Democrat.

@4: You're a fucking moron if you think you can compare Burner to Ruderman and get away with it among people who know better. Ruderman is a DelBene wannabe. Burner is the only real liberal in the race.

Twisting the opponent's name into a slur is such 4th grader, Hoekstraesque stuff. I'm not a DelBene supporter, but this tactic is just insulting to voters, and not good for the party.

@2 Your comment about her "disposable attitude" would make sense if she didn't have the most support from labor. Go figure.

@6 Even if she did drop money in her campaign, it shows commitment rather than selling-out to PACs

@9 Nice Pete reference! lol
