Victory for the Forces of Democratic Freedom!

Posted by on Wed, Jul 11, 2012 at 1:39 PM

According to the Huffington Post, House Republicans just voted again to repeal Romneycare-plus:

The Republican-led House has voted to repeal President Barack Obama's health care law. But the election-year move stands no chance in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

The vote Wednesday was 244-185. By the Republican count, it was the 33rd time in 18 months that the tea party-infused GOP majority has tried to scrap, defund or scale back the law since grabbing the majority.

Finally! Our long national nightmare of insuring every American is finally dead! Now we can finally—finally—get down to job creation! Right, guys?

The Orange Man promised us jobs back in 2010. What happened?

The problem with job creation is it has more to do with the confidence of the big spenders. We're getting back from point where no one has any confidence in the market despite 10 consecutive quarters of record corporate gains

You would think that would stimulate job creation, no? But the misers lack confidence in the economy which is a natural thing after a recession. It takes time...which is unfortunate.

Though, how beating the dead horse of Romneycare 2.0.1 beyond all signs of recognition isn't going to create more jobs...I don't see how the two are related.

To be fair, "ObamaCare" isn't universal coverage, from what I understand. For that matter, I can't see lower middle-class people, who don't think they can afford monthly insurance premiums now, flocking to get insurance because of a $100 per year penalty.

If at first, you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try again.

Nice usage of 'infused'.. Oh yeah, the House is STEEPING in tea-baggery these days... Just lookit at that little string dangling off the cup!

I just like how all of this is being recorded for posterity. In the next 10-15 years, as the ACA comes to seem like just another solid link in our valued social 'safety net', it will be almost inconceivable to think that, once upon a time, a bunch of whiny ne'er-do-wells tried to make it go away. We'll always be able to crack open the Big Book of 'Publicans and see just WHO and WHEN and HOW they tried to get rid of affordable healthcare. Sweeeet.

Yeah, and most of their dads were standing in front of school doors trying to prevent non-white children from entering those hallowed halls. Look how well that's worked out for them.

This same group of nutters will likely be returned to DC in November. The GOP will retain a somewhat-weakened control of the House, Cantor will replace Boner as Speaker, and Obama still won't be able to change anything what needs fixing. If anything, the Know-nothings will get worse as the ACA is implemented.

America is FUCKED.

So, Mr. Constant: can we assume from the headline (and the brief story, of course) that this news caused you to orgasm?
