Brad Pitt's Mother: Not an Obama Fan

Posted by on Fri, Jul 6, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Via the Hollywood Reporter, a letter from Jane Pitt—mother of Brad, "a Christian," and a strong supporter of Mitt Romney:

Any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.

As for that guy running on the Democratic ticket, Jane Pitt identifies him as "Barack Hussein Obama—a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."

Brad, of course, disagrees.

But of course, they are from Springfield, MO, a very scarily conservative place. There's a church on about every corner. Her opinion sound like every crappy super conservative email forward my grandpa sends me.

That said, why should we care what a celebrity's mother thinks?

Seriously? Who the fuck cares?

We should all support the killing of same-sex marriage, don't you think?

I read that Brad Pitt was intersexed while still an infant, so what we read from Jane Pitt could come from a woman who is not willing to accept "the gift her God gave her."

I bet Thanksgiving table conversations are a hoot with old Mrs. Pitt and Mrs. Jolie-Pitt at the same table.

Poor Brad. Wait, what am I saying? I hope he donates megabucks to Barack Hussein Obama and gives mom a kiss.

Anti-gay discrimination isn't "Christian" in ANY sense, it's just bigotry and it's mighty ugly.

Great, just great, now I have to boycott all of Jane Pitts movies.

Who the fuck cares about what Jane Pitt's mother thinks about anything? And how is this news? BTW, the job report is out and is lackluster. Maybe this is why we are talking about the pointless stuff?

I get the same feeling from that article that I get when sports reporters try to cover "serious" news. Massive inferiority complex at work.

Own your beat, guys. People are reading anyway.

@7:
Not in the Presidential race, unless Pitt also votes in Missouri (and his mother does---she's identified as a resident of 'Springfield', which could be in any state, but from context is probably MO).

@5, @8

Don't forget that Angelina Jolie's pop is Jon Voight, who's pretty far right, so she's used to some crazy shit.

@12: what's to talk about? the unemployment rate is complex - and beyond the wont of most voters to grasp. most of them make their presidential decisions on shit like old lady pitt's pooping out here.

public sector employment has been in a tailspin, which is what have conservatives wanted all along, isn't it? to drown government in the bathtub? absent that, the unemployment rate looks pretty good.

of course, constructions' still dead thanks to the overbuilt Aughts, Europe's a basketcase, and Obama's been blocked at every turn by this congress. of course his jobs policy hasn't worked, there isn't one a jobs policy. by design. just ask Mitch McConnell.

but context doesn't matter, does it? this is amurka.

@18 but it wasn't complicated for you when the unemployment first starting to skyrocket with Bush was it?

Jon Voight got barfed up by a snake in Anaconda, his argument is irrevocably invalid.

Yes, but what does Brad Pitt's second cousin think? Let's get some real journalists on THAT story.

Bet Mama Pitt is also not very thrilled that her first bio-granddaughter prefers a more boyish hair and clothing style. Hopefully, Brangelina don“t let grandma talk like that in front of the kids

GOD CAN DO ANYTHING! My husband is no longer a slave to the sin of homosexuality, HALLELUJAH! Lord save President Obama! Xgay Greg's Wife, Dede Haislip
