Thinking of Sending a Threat to The Stranger?

Posted by on Tue, Jul 3, 2012 at 12:08 PM

Pro Tip: When taping your favorite gun pic to your personalized threat, make sure that you don't accidentally tape your fingerprints to the threat as well.

Bang bullies, We Will Get U, Evil Bully Paper, etc etc.
  • WE OWN THIS NOW
  • "Bang bullies, We Will Get U, Evil Bully Paper," etc etc.

Close up of the fingerprints after the jump...

You fucking idiot.
  • WE OWN THIS NOW
  • You fucking idiot.

The only people with a big enough false victim complex to think your paper bullied them are evangelical christians, and coupled with the cover story there, I would say it was likely just a nutball white middle-aged evangelical.

This also likely means that the person does not have a criminal record, making the prints pretty useless.

Hilarious though. The best criminal is one who is dumb as shit.

"Evil Bully Paper" would make an excellent tagline for the Stranger.

Newsprint is not a great choice if you don't want to leave fingerprints.

Goes without saying, right? I mean the fact that people so adamantly defend a mythology cooked up by men in the Bronze Age to explain natural phenomena has to raise a question or two about their ability to use logic. You should send the evidence to the Our Laughable Past Division of the Scopes Trial Museum and Library.

Uh, are you guys taking this seriously and reporting it to the police or treating it as a complete hoax? 'Cuz it's the former, it might be a dumb idea to have posted this, lest it somehow compromise the investigation or taint a potential jury pool.

I love how "bully" is being tossed around so much now. The other day the Guardian published a po-faced opinion piece by someone bemoaning poor Anderson Cooper having to come out to stop people bullying him into coming out.

As Guy Branum wrote yesterday (retweeted by Lindy), "I sincerely hope this ends the spate of bullying against crisply handsome cable news anchors."

@1: If they had a government security clearance or worked in the military then their fingerprints will be on file. There are a lot of ways to get your fingerprints added to the FBI database other than by crime.

My vote is for @RepJoeWalsh as the dumbass criminal. He's definitely proven himself to be dumb, an ass, and as a deadbeat dad, I believe he is also a criminal.

Every government employee gets fingerprinted on day 1, security clearance or not. They get you early before it occurs to you to resist.

Yawn. What a lame-ass threat. Nonwithstanding that, as someone above wrote, uh, it's a little false-victimizing by the Stranger to put this on the slog (or maybe not, if the Slog is supposed to be a little but of a writer dump, then I guess it's ok).

How'd that police investigation work out?
