If there's one kind of book event that doesn't happen often enough in Seattle, it's the opportunity to just hang out with a bunch of highly literate strangers in a room and talk about books for a while. That's why I'm excited for tomorrow night's Movable Type literary mixer at Vermillion.

Here's the plan: It's free. It starts at seven. You show up ready to talk about a book you're reading. That's it. It's supposed to spotlight the work of a local adult literacy program called Literacy Source, but it's mostly an excuse to share a room with book-minded people: Booksellers, librarians, authors, and avid readers. I'm going to be there. I know of a few authors who'll be there. You should be there, too.
