Joe the Plumber Is Still a Huge Idiot

Posted by on Tue, Jun 19, 2012 at 1:40 PM

WHATISTHISIDON'TEVEN:

For those without video:

Wurzelbacher has a new advertisement in which he says that gun control laws are responsible for the Armenian genocide and the Holocaust of the Jews. What’s more, he explains the theory while loading his gun and shooting fruits and vegetables.

One day, we will all discover that "Joe" the "Plumber" was really just an elaborate piece of performance art, and on that day, we will laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Didn't Gallagher do this in the 80s?

It's the notion that oppression can't happen if people are well armed. But it's funny to see that extended to genocide, given that white people (who will be the only ones committing any genocide in this country in the future) are more often armed than any racial minority.

yet another chunk of humanoid dumbfuckery who won't go away...

america's dalliance with john mccain was like poking a hooker with a tortured case of herpes. we get to suffer through the occasional flare-ups from here forward.

I knew this was going to make it on Slog. This is why it's important to teach our children history, because you can tell someone ignorant in history anything and he will believe it if it agrees with him.

Not to mention that he's wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politic…

So the Germans could own rifles without any problem.
Just like Joe the Plumber is firing in that ad.

Looks like he's quoting something that's been floating around the Internet since at least 2004.

http://msgboard.snopes.com/message/ultim…

What he is (unintentionally?) advocating is for a minority to arm itself in violation of the law in case the majority decides to attack the minority.

Now think about how the Republicans would react if lots of young black men applied for concealed carry permits throughout the country.

@10 His speech-writer has, but his potential voters haven't. This strange foreign country will frighten them; expect NOT to hear it mentioned again.

The government has tanks and drones. Why do gun nuts expect them to fear rifles?

@9, you don't have to imagine it. The Black Panthers heartily endorsed blacks arming themselves and would march down the street openly carrying shotguns. The result was assassination of their leaders, violent shoot outs with the cops, and long prison terms.

@15

They seem to fear light firearms and IEDs plenty in Iraq. Why would you think they wouldn't do the same here?

Tanks, jets and drones are the weapons of the Blitzkrieg. Rifles are the weapons of occupation and resistance to that occupation.

If everyone respected and understood the 2nd amendment, they'd realize that it was put there to avoid having the oppressive, offense standing army that we currently possess, and that our constitution was written exactly as it was to avoid ever having such a thing exist as a part of our federal government in the 1st place.

This is why quaint things such as Congress actually declaring war are important. The way it's supposed to work is that once Congress declares war, Congress can then appropriate funds to raise An army. From there, Congress is allowed to appropriate funds to THAT army (and only that army) every 2 years as necessary, based on the status of that war.

In theory, depending on how many wars we were fighting, we could have multiple armies to which funds needed to be appropriated individually.

Right now, the 2 largest branches of our military, The Army and The Marines, are in direct violation of the constitution and are therefore illegal.

"but...but...that's just not practical in today's modern society with all the complex geopolitical struggles and interactions that just didn't exist in 1789..."

Fine. Change the law. There is an easy to follow set of instructions in the constitution which outline how to do that.

Until then, go buy a gun. It's your duty as an American.

So, the Jewish population of Germany was supposed to arm themselves with rifles and do by themselves what the entire combined armies of Europe were unable to do with guns, tanks, aircraft and ships? It would be interesting to see how that worked out for them. I suppose in the end it would have worked out about the same for them but it might have been a little faster and they wouldn't have spent so much time in the camps.

Keeping the work area clean and free of debris is always a good idea. The less clutter the better and the easier it will be for a plumber to ensure that a job is going the way it is supposed to"sifting through clutter to find the correct tool can take time and lead to the cutting of corners or improvisation on a job, both of which could put the plumber in danger.

The good thing about hiring an expert is that most of them are certified and licensed to operate. This certification shows that they are skillful and capable of delivering quality services. You will also be assured that they have the necessary insurance. This is important in case of any problems as the work gets done. Most professionals take their work seriously as they depend on it to make a living.
