Mitt Romney Held the Press Down and Cut Its Hair as It Wept and Cried for Help?

Posted by on Mon, Jun 18, 2012 at 11:22 AM

Because whenever I read a headline like "Romney Pranks the Press," I immediately think of Romney's long history of "pranks," like this classic, or the oldie-but-goodie where he tricked a blind teacher into walking into a glass door.

But, no. Instead, he made a joke about erasing the media's hard drives, which is apparently a callback to that hilarious prank at the end of his term as governor of Massachusetts, when his administration deleted government records. What a kidder, this guy.

In a recent national poll, 37% of respondents said they'd rather be wedgied in a men's room stall by Romney than share a beer with Obama.

On the question of whether or not they would rather have Romney write graffiti on them while they were passed out on a couch, versus have the President engage them in a one-on-one talk about the subject of their choice, 29% chose "graffiti", while an additional 13% were undecided.

I haven't heard a joke this funny since GW looked for WMDs at the correspondent's dinner.

It's not just that it's horribly offensive -- it's just not funny either.

Romney is an unbiblical sinner!
Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling-block before the blind, but thou shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.
(Leviticus 19:14, and he's not too hot on 19:15 either.)

The campaign propaganda machine sure is full swing, right Mr. Constant?

@6: for it to be Propaganda, it has to be heard by someone other than the choir.

Technically, he didn't destroy government records. Technically, he spent simply massive amounts of money and leveled a forest in order to convert accessible government records that legally could not be destroyed into a warehouse full of useless, expensive paper records that cannot feasibly be examined. It's the huge waste of money and paper and the refusal to be honest and technically violate the law that makes it an enormous fnck you to the taxpayer whose records they were.

A lot of people in this country want a dictator, and Romney is their man. Obama might have no respect for civil rights. He might order the assassination of American citizens, but he doesn't have that reassuring aura of entitlement that the craven conservatives love so much in a leader.
