This Weekend: Northwest New Works at On the Boards

Posted by on Fri, Jun 15, 2012 at 1:27 PM

Two stages, two sets of performances of new, weird shit that will probably be difficult to describe. From my notes at last weekend's performances:

Slow-motion sexy dance class in cutoff jeans... Overheard: "Mark Haim did not trademark people walking..." Giant balloons, white like tumors... Hamlet + Rammstein + dancing in the dark... Cancer and drinking problems...

On deck this weekend: Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey (who've been nominated for one of this year's Stranger Genius Awards), Erin Pike, Maureen Whiting Company, Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble, Vanessa DeWolf, Richard Lefebvre, Waxie Moon, and Ulrich/Graczyk/Baldoz.

Here's a trailer, with photos of the performers and a song by Richard Lefebvre that I've been listening to on repeat all day.

"I'm expecting bad news from the government." It's my new motto.
