Ron Paul Fans Ignore Ron Paul's Claims That Ron Paul Has Lost

Posted by on Thu, Jun 7, 2012 at 10:49 AM

Last night, Ron Paul announced that his delegate total was not enough to win the Republican presidential nomination. Instead, he says that his delegates—about a fifth of the delegates available—could "grow our movement and shape the future." How he intends to "grow" his "movement" is unclear—he's not even angling for a speaking spot at the convention.

But Ron Paul fans aren't going to take Ron Paul's word for it! They're up in arms, and they're ready to win this thing for the ReLOVEution!

Ron Paul to WIN — Or America to END 2012!
(there are no other options)

WHY does he issue these statements? I thought the whole point was to WIN? I am getting disappointed in Dr. Paul lately. He wants to fight, but conceeds the whole thing. WHAT’S GOING ON HERE????????

Let’s keep on fighting, we have a lot to lose, for example, OUR FREEDOM!!!
“…All we need is Paul, all we need is Paul, Paul, Paul is all we need” – The Beatles
Well, not really, but you have the idea.
Spread the message and keep in touch with the Ron Paul Campaign, there’s an app for that!!!

Others are ready to turn this into a write-in campaign in the general election, because many presidents have been elected as write-in candidates:

TO ALL OF YOU WHO BELIEVE THAT WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE.
IF RON PAUL DOES NOT WIN THE NOMINATION AND DOES NOT RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT.
WRITE…HIM…IN!!

And some of the Ron Paul fans are getting a little militant. As in, they're starting to sound an eentsy bit violent:

I sincerely feel that if Dr. Paul does not win, then whomever is elected will make us feel like our “MOVEMENT” is pushing forward, they’ll silently flank us, take away our LIBERTIES and then our FREEDOM!!!!

Give me Liberty of give me death!
I will NEVER vote for Romney EVER!

[In reference to the comment directly above.]
...illogical sentiment (why so suicidal — Rmoney or the BO will be happy to oblige your latter request)….
How about the logical one:
“Give me Liberty, or give them death”…?

This shit could get out of control real quick.

Well, they've continued to bend over for him in every other election. Why not this one?

I always thought they were all a bunch of loony-tunes. It's good to have confirmation, though.

Thanks. Downloaded. I anticipate many hearty laughs.

They didn't get to where they are today by being rational, so why start now?

They should all pack up and take their brains and talent elsewhere. New Hampshire. Or Liberia. Or that offshore platform. SeaOrg. Er, SeaLand. Same thing.

Nothing would stick in the craw of snarky bastards like me more than seeing the Paultarrds go Gait. I'd be like, "oh, no! They went Gait! They went Gait! Lord save us they're all gone and we will be helpless. The Paultards went Gait everyone!!!"

Really.

So, probably a third of them will vote for Romney, a third will vote for some third party and a third will not vote.

It will still be interesting to see what they do at the convention.

No announcement of Ron Paul's capitulation at this Paulist site:

He hasn't lost until the Convention.

You never know what will happen when his 2004-2010 tax returns are released, showing the record IRS fines that Mittens took years to pay back for illegally avoiding US income and capital gains taxes.

The idea of Ron Paul was always more powerful than the man himself. It seems only fitting that people expect the idea to continue campaigning even after the man is done.

@#7, Please pardon my ignorance, but does "Go Gait" mean? Is there another ridiculous candidate named Gait?

One of my good friends, who -and I forgive her for this- is a Republican delegate, left the convention in disgust because all of the Ron Paul-ies were screaming and rude the whole time. When you are so crazy-fucking-right-wing that you can actually piss of the righties, that is really a special brand of crazy.

I hope every last one of them writes in Ron Paul in November. Then when he still loses I hope all 200 of them start an armed revolt and get their heads blown off when they realize their second amendment rights only give them the right to own a gun but not the talent to go against actual trained police.

@12 I think 7 really meant "Galt" a character in a novel who quits working at his potential because he doesn't like paying taxes and convinces other people to do the same thing.

"this shit could get out of control real quick"

Please. Just relax. The internet offers a place to let off steam and tough-talk anonymously. There's no Ron Paul revolution brewing, for god's sake.

This is just too messianic. But I hope they refuse to cooperate with Republicans, too. So even though I find them crazy, it's a good crazy.

I would think that The "righteous" Stranger would be on the right side of this issue. Guess they support big banks running our country. It's worked out pretty well so far I guess.
