My feelings about Montana? Nice mountains (particularly in Paradise Valley); lots of cows (if what defines humans is intense consciousness, what defines these animals is intense stomachness); and one good town, Bozeman, which has a big library and a fine co-op (the one in Missoula is very small and hard to find, as it is slab-dab in the middle of a huge trailer park—no beer, no Big Gulps, no Cheetos, no nothing).

Now here is what a New Yorker, Christina D'Angelo, thinks about my town, Seattle:
Of course, for those of us who have ventured there, Seattle strikes an attractive balance between small-town charm and big-city sophistication. Its residents, at once friendly and aloof, sparkle with just the right mix of urban cynicism and Portlandia crunch. It’s all part and parcel with living in a city so far off the beaten path, it’s a wonder Lewis and Clark ever made it back alive. In Seattle, no one can hear you scream, and that’s just fine with Seattleites.
D'Angelo thinks Big Mario’s New York Style Pizza is the real deal.
