Is the "Free Leonard Peltier" sign ironic, or is that actually something people still do?

I love every one of these signs. I don't necessarily agree with each message (or know what the fuck some of them mean), but I love them all.

It's really easy to sit on SLOG and bitch about anarchists, cops, the mayor, etc, but each of these people made an effort to take their message to the streets, which ain't nearly as easy as sitting on SLOG and bitching about anarchists, cops, the mayor, etc.

The "We Don't Need No Water" sign might be a reference to William Elliott Whitmore's song Mutiny. It's a stretch, but kind of fits the theme.

Great photos, Kelly O! Shame on the band Slut Nips though for their attempt at guerilla marketing during the protest.

Is the Fuck Pig sign a protest or a come-on?

@3, "the streets" is not where "messages" are received and analyzed.

I love the pic of the young kids with the Argentina and Mexican national team jerseys. Great pic and I know it has nothing to do with the protests, but you would never see that in Mexico or Argentina( bitter rivals) it was nice to see that our children who came here didn't bring the silly rivalries. Sorry I know I'm off topic I just love that image.

im guessing "we don't need no water" is a reference to letting the motherfucker burn.

When I was a boy, there was a song that went, "The roof, the roof, the roof is on on fire, WE DON'T NEED NO WATER, let the motherfucker burn"

That's my guess. The sign is suggesting we let an unspecified motherfucker burn.

The song also had "clap your hands everybody, and everybody clap your hands," and "somebody screeeeam!" and all those other 80s hip-hop cliches, but I don't think the sign is referencing those parts.
