Politico has a nice roundup of the incredibly cautious, mediocre endorsements Mitt Romney has been receiving lately. They're really something. Here's Romney "fan" Rudy Giuliani:
This reminds me of, you know, going to a surgeon, right?â Giuliani said on âFox & Friends.â
âIf Iâve got a terrible cancer or something to be operated on, when I had to be operated on for prostate cancer, I didnât go to the nicest doctor, I went to the best doctor. The guy could have a great personality and tell jokes [and he] put the knife in the wrong way. On the other hand, if heâs a great doctor, thatâs my guy. Now, Mitt Romney, this is overdone. Mitt Romneyâs a nice guy, a good guy and heâs just as personable. I know both of them. I know Mitt better, but I know the president. Both are very nice men. President [Barack] Obama is not nicer than Mitt Romney or vice versa.â
And here's Romney "supporter" Mitch Daniels:
âYou have to campaign to govern, not just to win,â Daniels said in the interview. âSpend the precious time and dollars explaining whatâs at stake and a constructive program to make life better. And as I say, look at everything through the lens of folks who have yet to achieve.â
The columnist he spoke with wrote: âAfter a pause, Daniels added with disappointment: âRomney doesnât talk that way.ââ
The parade of backhanded compliments just keep coming! So the only question is...
