I like gay Orangina the best. I wish they made construction worker.

Did anyone notice there was no Slog morning news yesterday? Has that ever happened before?

@4 I remember a post this week(?) about The Stranger seeking a news intern. Framing NYT Op-Ed's and shining Pulitzers can take time.

Saturday Morning News:
Author Charles Murray sounds exactly like Shatner.

@2, I remember fondly from my "gay but not narrow" youth that LadyGina is really quite va-licious. I think Rastaman may be the only flavor of man I haven't yet tasted. Nice to have a goal at my age.

I feel no compunction about interrupting this thread.

Kind of off-topic here, as this post doesn’t pertain to fashion… But while doing a little research I came across a picture of Screech from Saved by the Bell and thought to myself, “why do I feel like I’ve seen this guy recently?”…

@2 -- The label says something about "rouge" ... but it warps around and I can't make out anything about bedazzles.

@10, I think it's French for "Rubyfruit Jungle."

So Dominic's in gay Paree this week?

A reasonably accurate translation of copy from Orangina's French website (

Orangina Samouraï: All the freshness of Orangina heightened with an audacious dash of lemon.

Orangina Geisha: Let yourself be seduced by Orangina Geisha -- the indulgent taste of Orangina coupled with the sweetness of peach.

Orangina Indien: Rediscover the famed Indian Cocktail -- all the pleasure of Orangina with an indulgent touch of grenadine in a single bottle.

Orangina RastaMan: Rediscover the indulgent taste of Orangina with an exotic touch of tropical fruit.

Orangina L'Aristo: Rediscover the indulgent taste of Orangina with a subtle touch of blackcurrent.

Orangina Rouge: Orangina Rouge is the great taste of Orangina coupled with the bold sweetness of blood orange.

Orangina Light [replaced by Orangina Miss O!]: Rediscover Orangina's unique, pulpy taste but without added sugars or artificial flavorings.

And as of January 2012:

Orangina Bad Jack: Bad Jack is a good-looking hunk with perfect hair and a shiny leather jacket who will startle your eyes before thrilling your taste buds... Bad Jack combines the full taste of Orangina, all dressed up in black, with a deliciously mysterious accent [of exotic fruit].

Orangina Lady Gina: Lady Gina is a wacky party girl into rhinestones and glitter. She's a Lolita at heart and she'll tease you mercilessly before finally charming you with her unique taste. Lady Gina combines the indulgence of Orangina with a dash of flashy pink exuberance [from red fruit]!

Orangina Miss O: In 2012, Orangina shakes up the light market with a new sugar-free recipe for young women who are vivacious, funny, natural, sexy, and just a little wild. Bring on the color and the freshness! Miss O delivers the great taste of fruit while keeping it light. With 0% added sugar (and no aspartame!), Miss O still pampers your need to be indulged. Miss O's trio of brightly colored flavors, Orange, Grapefruit, and Raspberry, afford you a variety of pleasures. Orangina Miss O is the drink for women who want it all -- it's the drink for all women, because all women have a little "Miss O" in them! You no longer have to choose between pleasure and calories. Try Orangina's new Miss O, in stores now!

Two observations:

(1) Bill Hick's admonition to people in advertising and marketing obviously hasn't made it southeast of the English Channel.

(2) Plain old Orangina is pretty tasty stuff.

Ok I really want to try these new flavors. I love Orangina. I love those they describe Lady Orangina as a "Lolita" at heart. that'd never work in the US.

@16, ooh, the half marathon is today, prettiest course in the world says my uncle. He and my aunt just moved there from Paris, in order to be warmer year-round while belittling French people and refusing to learn the language.

Who calls it "soda"? The Stranger is based in Seattle, not New York or California. It's frigging "pop". Pop, pop, pop! In this giant swathe across the northern United States and Canada! Christ.
