The film for this Friday, April 20, will be a short by me called "rhodZi." Edited by Adam Sekuler, the current program director at Northwest Film Forum, the short is about the struggle (in the past and present) against all forms of European imperialism and white supremacy. Maraire, one-half of Shabazz Palaces and a percussionist trained in Zimbabwe's traditional music, produced, performed, and arranged the music. Maraire and I come from the same village in Zimbabwe. We are Manicas. We are mountain people. Enjoy the revolution.
