Commenter sugu is taking issue with my (fully admitted!) nitpicking in this week's review of Ma'ono. The thing is, at a place that serves (delicious!) fried chicken for $38 per bird, it seems within the realm of the appropriate to (admittedly!) nitpick about the (delicious!) $12 albacore poke. (The things I took [slight!] issue with: The poke maybe could've used a little more spicy heat, and its [very pretty!] presentation on a big bed of ice made it a little too cold.)

For the record, I would not be so goddamned fussy at this wonderful place, which also serves (great!) Hawaiian food in a much-less-fancy spot for much less money. If only the transporter weren't down—the tech people say they're working on it!—I would go there for lunch right now.
