Meth Lab Found in Walmart Restroom

Posted by on Wed, Apr 11, 2012 at 2:56 PM

Can someone please name one good reason to ever visit Alabama, aside from the cheap thrill of knocking up a teenager or making meth in a Walmart restroom?

Of all the things a Walmart janitor comes across, meth labs are probably low on the list.

Boaz Police say a maintenance worker cleaning the women’s restroom found pseudoephedrine pills and a plastic water bottle with residue in the bottom.

Managers contacted police, who recovered what Chief Terry Davis called a one-pot ‘shake and bake’ type lab.

No? Well, okay then.

Not a fan of Walmart, but I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom.

The former world's largest office chair in Anniston?

And that and the army base are pretty much all that is in Anniston. The two weeks I spent there after Hurricane Gustav were very, very long. I would almost have rather been back in South Louisiana in 95 degree heat with no electricity.

There used to be Space Camp. That was awesome.

What's truly sad is that the police in Boaz, Alabama correctly identified a meth lab consisting of less components than the meth lab my family found a few years ago that Federal Way police incorrectly dismissed and left for someone else to clean up (and eat a hole in his car's floor).

Space Camp in Huntsville. That's about it.

I went to the space camp in Florida and I am sad to have heard that it had closed down in the early 2000's. And I can't believe that I didn't hear of this but the old dorm that thousands of children astronauts used while attending Space Camp Florida was demolished early last year. It had been unused since the demise of the Florida Space Camp franchise. Sad to see it go!

Someone should have saved it and turned it into a space hotel. I am now glad that I visited a month before the demolition and I am glad that I still have some of my old space camp gear and papers/books/manuals.

Calling some bottles of (admittedly very nasty) chemicals left in a Wal Mart bathroom a "meth lab" is extremely sensationalist.

Here is some background on the method, no Breaking Bad setup required:

Any reason to visit Alabama? Well, their tax system is less regressive than ours and they spend more per pupil to educate their kids. But you smug Seattleites keep telling yourselves that places like AL are the conservative backwaters and WA is a bastion of liberalism.

@17 - Yet Alabama's high-school graduation rate is the 8th worst in the nation. Must be all of those abstinence-educated pregnant drop-outs.

More likely, it's the poverty rate - fifth highest in the nation. Or maybe it's because of all the brown kids are "self-deporting" due to HB 56. Yes, lovely, tolerant place you've got there.

I lived in Alabama, and I can't think of a force on earth that would get me to move back.

they always said you could get anything at Walmart, a baby delivery. a blow Job in the freezer dept in michighan and now and now a spray as you go meth. Well maybe that"s not the place I want to keep getting my everything! Other than the ingredents that have to be purchased behind the counter, the other things were probably stolen. Has anyone looked at their cameras at Wally World or is that to hard to do?

Now, now. Alabama has nice weather, at least one nice university (Auburn), the highways are nice (maintained), Tuskegee is there, it has some nice beaches (white sand) and Harper Lee. If you have to live there, it is tolerable. It is not ALL BAD. For that, there is Mississippi (thank God).
