I think the kids will be OK. They'll probably fall for "that's not the real Easter Bunny" (or pretend to in case the chocolate gravy train might end.)
My daughter watched Futurama, with all its cartoon dismemberments, from before she could talk. One of her first sentences was "Wanna see robot." No nightmare problems to speak of.
