Library Funding, Hell Yeah!

Posted by on Mon, Apr 9, 2012 at 12:08 PM

Mayor McGinn has scheduled a noon presser with city councilman-about-town Richard Conlin and a few dedicated book humpers to announce the city's proposed Library levy, which will hopefully address the library's budget, staff, and hours issues.

Follow along with me, everyone!

I will be proud to vote for the Library and vote down the Ten Dollar Toll Tunnel subsidizing Seawall instead.

Decisions to overspend Billions have consequences.

Yes, let's put essential services like libraries and essential projects like the seawall up to a vote. That way, we will have the legal (even if not the fiscal) bonding capacity to build a third stadium WITHOUT a vote.

How about we put stadium bonds to a vote if that deal is a go, and just simply fund the library and the seawall, even if the latter has already been delayed six months by the city? That would mean serving the people instead of Hedge Fund Managers and their hangers on.

Are they gonig to buy books and library materials as well as expand hours or are they just using the money to build even more crappy looking libraries? (Yeah, I'm talking about the eyesore in downtown)

The books will be kept in the new Stadium Library, right next to the ESPN booth.
