Running Around NYC

Posted by on Mon, Apr 2, 2012 at 12:11 PM

Gonna toss two things up quickly so Slog doesn't feel ignored. First, Jonathan Groff—who loves Sutton Foster as much as I do—recreates the AWESOME and AMAZING "Anything Goes" from Anything Goes. Check. Out. The. Butts. On. Those. Dancers.

And a NSFW treat for the gay centaur fetishists. Enjoy!

My ex took my kids to NY at Xmas time and they saw "Anything Goes." One of my great joys is hearing my 12-year-old rave about Sutton Foster, and hearing the two kids singing Cole Porter around the house.

Cute video, cute guy, but... is that what passes for singing on Broadway these days? Sounded flat and gargly, with poor diction. Maybe the video quality is not good.

yuck, really. He might be cute because he's young, but like Ms Feral turnip said, is that what passes for singing?

Is Dan is angling to re-name Savage Love to his original preference of "Hey, Faggot!"?

More sex! More confusion! More moral savagery! Less musical theatre, please.

@2, 3, don't be too hard on him. Yes, he had a mushmouth problem and nobody worked too hard on it, but he's cute, and it was a nice little tribute, just for fun. If you want to see what all the Sutton Foster fuss is about, and maybe enjoy the awesome asses of dancers who are actually tearing this shit up properly, here's a magnificent press event perfornance by the REAL cast in their civvies. If you're not shouting with joy by the end of this you may as well stick to industrials.

Well, I'm overjoyed another Slogger had the same idea for a performance to blast the cobwebs out. Can't link to that one too often!

Thanks for the link, Gus and Erika. This Groff guy was awful, so it was nice to have a palate cleanser.

Terrible. Singing. Was enjoyable on mute though.

Well I have no comment on the singing either way, but I did enjoy both video clips (thanks, gus).

When has a tap dancer not had a great ass? Also, figure skaters and ballet dancers...the men anyway. But seriously, you ain't getting on a Broadway chorus line unless the booty is right, amirite?

Ah, tap dancing! The ultimate depravity of the modern libertine.

Also, hetero-approved. Legs, legs, legs..

I've always loved this musical since playing in the orchestra pit in high school.

He does that awful hollerin' yodel thing Foster also does. I guess bad taste isn't a choice, either.
