Arlen Specter Remembers Back When Pornographic Kinescopes Were Three-for-a-Nickel on Saturdays

Posted by on Wed, Mar 28, 2012 at 12:02 PM

This happened on MSNBC this morning:

"Well, the Republican party has moved so far to the right, you can't recognize Mitt Romney. What Mitt Romney will appear in October?" said Specter.

Paraphrasing a recent joke by Bill Maher, Specter said, "Mitt Romney has changed positions more often than a pornographic movie queen."

Ouch, grandpa. Maybe stick with the Etch-A-Sketch imagery from now on, okay? (Related: Someone needs to write Republican presidential nomination fan fiction, stat. I've got your title: "Mitt Romney and the Pornographic Movie Queen from Venus.")

Arlen Specter has the perfect name, it's almost Dickensian.

Ageist! You're gonna be old, too, one of these days, if you're lucky.

@2 and if I'm really lucky, I'll be like my awesome, aged grandma who knows what a joke this is.

Please don't make me think of Arlen Specter and porn at the same time. Not cool!

Not kinescopes, kinetoscopes!

Kinetoscopes were ancient peep-show viewers, basically a movie film loop in a cabinet, which one person could view at a time.

Kinescopes are television shows recorded onto movie film in those much more recent days of yore before videotape.
