There are so many exciting things happening, nerds!

1. You can now buy your passes for Geek Girl Con 2012! If last year is any indication, this will sell out fast and you will regret missing it. Get your tickets here!

2. Guess who I talked to?!? Jon Bernthal (aka Shane) from The Walking Dead! Watch this space for the interview coming later this week! (spoiler: he's a super-nice, down-to-earth guy) Look for Jon at Emerald City ComiCon... which brings us to our next alert:

3. Emerald City ComiCon is this weekend!! I will see you there!

4. Sakura-Con is NEXT weekend!

5. And finally, X-Bit 1 & 2 are this AND next weekend (3/30 and 4/6). Both events are at Pink Gorilla in the U District and feature local chiptune artists.

Did you open your interview with Bernthal by asking, "Mask you sumthin"?

Mary! For shame! You forgot an even bigger nerd thing this evening: Nintendo's Zelda symphony series comes to Benaroya tonight, its only hometown appearance. Part of the series' 25th anniversary celebration. http://www.zelda-symphony.com/schedule

Another forgotten major nerd event: Norwescon http://www.norwescon.org/ is _also_ next weekend! It's the thirty-fifth year of the largest local fantasy/sci-fi convention, also home to the Philip K. Dick award for best original SF/F paperback published in the last year.

I can't NOT believe I missed Zelda Symphony. I listen to the cd that came with Skyward Sword constantly. They are amazing group of musicians and I feel like a hero. Win-win.

Sad bear is sad because she's not going to Comic Con this year. Went last year and was looking forward to the Billy West/ John DiMaggio and The Talking Dead panels. I LOVE walking through the hall seeing all the art and talking to the creators. Best part.

Kevin Smith seems to be "Shatner" this year which is awesome for the ECCC.

I'm also afraid during the Talking Dead I'd go into a homicidal rage causing me to crave the brains of the people on panel, thus propelling the zombie apocalypse. I can't be a part of that, guys.

You kids have fun at the Con and other nerdery.

So many fantastically geeky things to do here in the PNW! It's still a ways out, but we also get Westercon, a big science fiction convention, in Seattle this year. July 5 – 8 to be exact (http://drupal.westercon65.org).
