The Hysterics, Green Day, and Tampons

Posted by on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 4:35 PM

The Hysterics, a hardcore band from Olympia, recently penned an open letter to Green Day after Green Day printed up t-shirts that looked a whole lot like their bloody tampon/Black Flag logo. The Hysterics are concerned about Green Day's heavy flow:

My initial response was one of shock and disappointment due to the fact that the portrayal of "tampon bars" has been a longstanding symbol of our Washington-based feminist rock group "Hysterics" (see Exhibit A). However, the more I ponder the content of our little "coincidence," the more my concern grows regarding the absorbency of the tampons depicted on some of your tee shirts.
