The Gingrich campaign is denying reports that they are about to announce a Gingrich-Perry joint ticket for the presidency. This sounds like the sort of denial that's intended to spread the rumor even further on the eve of the Mississippi and Alabama primaries, where a Rick Perry addition to the ticket would be a huge plus.

So, sure. I think they should go ahead and make it official. Rick Perry won a whopping 14,323 votes before he dropped out of the race. Those kinds of numbers would make a grand addition to Gingrich's nationwide vote totals. Plus, Gingrich has run so far to the right that Perry's homophobic, kill-'em-all schtick practically makes for a balanced ticket. And the race has gotten so dour lately with these four self-important schmucks that we could use a red hot dolt injection to make things lively again.
