1. Tomorrow night, Hedreen Gallery—which is hosting more and more readings, it seems—will be the home for a release party for the fourth issue of the excellent local literary magazine PageBoy. (They were shortlisted for a Genius Award back in September.) Get a load of this lineup: Stacey Levine, Alex Bleecker, Nico Vassilakis, and Ed Skoog. Plus: Animated movies and music! Not bad for the low, low price of free.

2. It's a big weekend for good, free group readings, in fact. Sunday night at Vermillion, there's a reading called Children's Stories for Old People. Stranger writer Sarah Galvin will read from her excellent Midnight Haiku series that she's been posting over on Line Out. She will be joined by Riley Christiansen, who will be reading from a children's book manuscript, and local art-dance-writing powerhouse Jamey Braden. It's like kid's story time for you, except you can drink a ton of booze and no giant assholes are hovering over you, bossing you around all the time. Paradise!
