We checked in earlier on the fate of some fucking nuts bills. (All dead. Phew.)
As for the bills that were merely bad...
Republican Representative John Ahern's bill to make doctors spell out "the anatomical and physiological characteristics of [an] unborn child" to women requesting an abortion is dead.
Republican Representative (and florist defender!) Matt Shea's bill to rejigger Washington State's electoral college math to favor—wait for it—Republicans is... also dead.
Democratic Representative Eric Pettigrew's attempt to give charter schools a toe-hold in Washington State is simultaneously very dead and very alive—in the sense that it helped touch off this huge Democrat vs. Democrat shitstorm.
And Senator Adam Kline's understandably angry but ultimately misguided attempt to reign in Rob McKenna's powers is, likewise, dead.
Nice work—again—democracy!
