Rick Santorum Flip-Flops on How Evil Obama Is

Posted by on Mon, Feb 20, 2012 at 11:13 AM

Over the weekend, Rick Santorum implied that President Obama followed a "phony theology." Then he insisted that he wasn't questioning President Obama's religion; he says he was only suggesting that Obama prioritizes the Earth over human beings. Then, Santorum said you start to find out that Obama is "Maybe...not the best guy. After a while, after a while you find out some things about this guy over in Europe who's not so good of a guy after all." It's generally assumed that Santorum was comparing Obama to Hitler. Here's video:

Now, according to Wonkette, Santorum is saying that he wasn't comparing Obama to Hitler, he was simply making a World War II metaphor, which he has made "100 times in my career." Frankly, I think this is an outrageous allegation on Rick Santorum's part. How dare he insinuate that his series of failed jobs and crushing defeats equals a "career?"

Meanwhile, in far more horrifying news, 10% of Michigan primary voters think Rick Santorum is "too liberal."

Obama DOES follow a phony theology.

But so does Santorum. And Romney. And Gingrich. And Paul. And every other religious person out there.

Ron Paul voters, most likely. Santorum IS "too liberal" for the extreme libertarians, and some pockets of the Tea Party, on economics. He's not a small government conservative; he's a Bushie Big Government conservative. Santorum has no answer for the deficit; if he was president it would probably triple. He made his career in PA not on the extremist anti-contraception viewpoint but on the classic "spread as much pork around the district as humanly possible" technique. He's one of the great earmarkers of all time.

If there's an alternate definition of "theology"—one that has nothing to do with god or religion—it's news to me. And to the editors of every dictionary ever published.

Y'know, I remember back in the 1960 election, the Republicans had a whispering campaign going against JFK, to the effect that if he won the election, our social policies would be dictated from the Vatican.

@Fnarf, and yet, the people in his own district in Pennsylvania still hate him.

I've never seen anybody in as much need of a swirly.

Accuse me of promoting bullying, and my response? "No, no, I meant a delicious ice cream cone!"

@5, because he's a fucking crook, who never lived in his district in the first place. And who stole tons of dough for himself and his many relatives.

It shouldn't be surprising that 10% of Michigan *REPUBLICAN* Primary voters think Santorum is too liberal. Have you all forgotten the Michigan Militias already? I guarantee you the people who were/are in them have not. There are some seriously far right lunatics.

These people talk with southern accents even though they've never even been as far south as Ann Arbor.

Oh, good. For a minute there, I was worried that his explanation of his remarks might make him seem like less of an idiot.

At :46 in this video the news announcer says that Obama is "requiring churches to pay for employees' birth control". That is a total bullshit statement.
