Santorum-Soaked Headline of the Day

Posted by on Wed, Feb 15, 2012 at 11:11 AM

"Megadeth frontman backs Rick Santorum"

"Earlier in the election, I was completely oblivious as to who Rick Santorum was, but when the dude went home to be with his daughter when she was sick, that was very commendable,” Mustaine recently told MusicRadar.com. “... You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I'm hoping that if it does come down to it, we'll see a Republican in the White House... and that it's Rick Santorum."

Check and mate, President Obama.

when i was in high school, the danish exchange student had a really tough time with american given names. so he just made up nicknames for us based loosely on some of the phoenetics of our names. i've forgotten all of them, except that Meredith was Megadeth. when i saw that headline earlier this morning, i immediately thought of her.

that's what you base your vote on, dave? whether a politician goes home to see his sick child?

His daughter is very sick. A parent should be there to care for their child. He was being a good parent. Wonder if he'd still be a good parent if his child told him they were gay and want to get married? Or if his child said they were raped and found out they were pregnant?

In another interview I read Mustaine was complaining that having to pay taxes keeps him from expressing himself musically. It made me wonder what particular aspect of taxation depresses his creativity. Paying for the interstate highway system? or maybe it's school lunches.

He's just another monied douchebag who has forgotten what it's like to be poor, and can rationalize voting for any moron who promises to lower his horribly burdensome tax bill.

@6 for the Bukake-Glitter Win.

Now go clean up that Santorum. It may be shiny, but it's bad for you.

Santorum is pretty metal and all, what with his preaching about obeisance to calcified moral standards.

"I was floored the other day to see that Mitt Romney's five boys have a $100 million trust fund. Where does a guy make that much money?"

Ask Metallica.

I also like the way Santorum eats when he feels hungry, uses the restroom when he feels necessary, and sees a dentist when his teeth hurt.

I don't understand. What presidential qualities does he have? I'm stumped. Is it the sweater vests?

This isn't the first...or the last of the stupid things that come out of the Megadeth frontman's mouth. That being said, Countdown To Extinction is still one of the best metal albums ever.

As a Megadeth fan, this sucks... and something else that has been bothering me the past few weeks in general: musicians endorsing politicians. Don't get me wrong, I love political music, but I think that musicians should refrain from any endorsement (republican or democrat). Why not just keep your voting record on the down-low? Since musicians are often in the business of criticizing politicians (especially a band like megadeth), it just makes more sense to keep the endorsement plate clean.

Anyway, Peace Sells... still kicks ass.

the theme song should be either "Something That I'm Not" from 'The System has Failed' or actually- "Washington is Next" (United Abominations) would probably be the most... appropriate.
