Wim Wenders' Pina opens Friday at the Cinerama, and Jen Graves holds forth on its 3-D brilliance here.

Also, on Friday February 17, SIFF will be hosting a special screening of Pina featuring Wim Wenders, who'll introduce the film and participate in an onstage Q&A afterwards moderated by Spectrum Dance Theater's Donald Byrd. Tickets to this special screening are $30 and can be purchased here.

Goddamnit. I used to snark about not being able to see 3D when there was only crap filmed in it, but since Cave of Forgotton Dreams, I'm cursing my eyes and brain.

Saw this last night with friends into dance.

Highly recommended.

The only problem with the 3D, which added greatly to it, was a brief scene where the dancers waved their arms rapidly.

Loved the Wuppertal Monorail and buildings used in the pieces!

Where did you see it, Will @2? SIFF supposedly has exclusive rights in Seattle, and it doesn't start showing here until Friday.
