2012 Shhhh! Gingwich Is Hunting Womneys

Newt Gingrich's new anti-Romney site, romneyguns.com, is totally worth it for the Mitt-Romney-as-Elmer-Fudd illustration at the top, even if the video is scary for fans of gun laws.

In other Romney news, the Democratic Party is combating Romney's latest claims that the Obama administration is "using Obamacare to impose a secular vision on Americans who believe that they should not have their religious freedom taken away." They've put together an infographic that explains Obamacare's policy on contraception is identical to Romneycare's contraception policies.

For my part, Romney's inconsistency is way less nutso than the completely cracked notion that making contraception available through federally-funded healthcare providers is some kind of "religious oppression."

I mean, without exaggeration, you could use all this right-wing rhetoric about health care and "religious freedom" to put together a very emphatic defense of human sacrifice.

They really should have included a stroke around the word "FEDERAL" at the top of that graph. It's hard to make out the 95% white/5% blue on pure white.

As to the content of the article... what does the GOP have, if not their hypocrisy and their demagoguery?

For what it's worth, "Lifetime Member" of the NRA is a membership level you get from paying a large chunk of cash upfront when you join. It's similar to "platinum" or "gold" memberships in other groups... It's not intended to literally mean "lifetime member."

@10 Yes, and the point is that if he had any real interest in guns, he'd have become a Life member 20 or 30 years earlier. Instead, it's just one more indication of his feckless political opportunism that he joined up immediately before his first national campaign.

Gingrich may be a wingnut asshole, but from the gun-nuts' point of view, this is a valid point.

It's the Affordable Health Act, not Obamacare. I hate that the Righties have created a word that even progressives use.
